DIACHRONIC EVOLUTION OF PROSOPOGRAPHICAL NETWORKS. A PAPER GIVEN BY THE DIGITISING MAXIMILIAN TEAM

The Digitising Maximilian team participated to the Graphs and Networks in the fourth dimension – time and temporality as categories of connectedness in Mainz (18-21 July 2023).

Marcella Tambuscio, Richard Hadden and Georg Vogeler presented a poster on Diachronic evolution of Prosopographical Networks.

Here is an abstract of their paper.

We discuss the possible applications of several recently proposed methods in network science to prosopographical relational data in the recently started FWF SFB project “Managing Maximilian”. We consider whether, by modeling prosopographical data as a set of parallel networks (multilayer networks) or adding temporal features to the edges (temporal networks), it is possible to provide more insightful analysis.
