WORKSHOP PAPER | Tonija Andrić: Split Notary Office in the 15th Century: Paleographic and Diplomatic Analysis of Notarial Documents


From 4 to 5 November 2025 the Writing Maximilian subproject organised the international workshop “Managing the Ruler in the Office” exploring new perspectives on the practice of chanceries in Late Medieval and Early Modern Times across Central, East Central, and South East Europe by bringing together innovative research approaches and classical methodological approaches. Tonija Andrić dedicated her presentation to the 15th-century Split notary office and its organisation and working methods by analysing notarial documents palaeographically and diplomatically. Vom 4. bis 5. November 2025 organisierte das Writing Maximilian Teilprojekt den internationalen Workshop „Managing the Ruler in the Office“. Ziel war es, sowohl innovative Forschungsansätze als auch klassische methodische Herangehensweisen zusammenzubringen und im Austausch neue Perspektiven auf die Praxis schriftlicher Produktion und Verwaltung im Spätmittelalter und der Frühen Neuzeit im mittel-, ostmittel- und südosteuropäischen Raum zu entwickeln. Tonija Andrić widmete ihren Vortrag dem Notariatswesen in Split im 15. Jahrhundert und präsentierte ihre durch paläografische und diplomatische Analysen gewonnen Forschungsergebnisse zu dessen Organisation und Arbeitsmethoden.
